Ann Louise Watson-Yoch

Ann Louise Watson-Yoch grew up on a farm owned by her aunt and uncle, Harold and Arvesta Waidelich, near Stroudsburg, Pa. She was seven in 1962 when she met her neighbors, Shorty and Marion Widmer, who were living in nearby Ramblewood Acres. She ran errands, watched Shorty paint and Marion create her miniature flower arrangements, and sang songs he taught her. Her favorite? “Where the Morning Glories Grow.”

“They were a blessing in my life when I needed it the most.”

The portraits are of Ann Louise’s father and stepmother, Charley and Charlotte.

Ann Louise now lives in Shawnee, Kansas. She provided the images.
